Optional Tours in Bariloche

The Bariloche package covers the Circuito Chico, Victoria Island and the Arrayanes forest, and leaves a free day. These are the days we add to it: south to the glacier under Cerro Tronador or to the valley of El Bolson, west by boat into the rainforest of Puerto Blest, north along the Seven Lakes to San Martin de los Andes or round the Circuito Grande to Villa Traful. All with an English-speaking guide, regular or private.

Five ways to use one more night in Bariloche

Each one is a full day from your hotel in Bariloche. They go in different directions, so every one you want is a night more, and none repeats what the package already includes.

Questions

What travellers ask us before choosing their Bariloche days

Can I book one of these Bariloche tours on its own?

These are days we add to your Bariloche package rather than stand-alone tickets: we arrange them together with your flights, your hotel and your transfers. When you write, we send you the detail of each day for your dates.

Are the Bariloche optional tours private?

Each runs as a regular service or as a private one, with the vehicle and the guide for your party alone. Tell us when you write and we quote it either way. The guide speaks English and Portuguese in both versions; the Puerto Blest catamaran is a scheduled boat shared with other passengers.

Which one should we choose if we only have one extra day in Bariloche?

Cerro Tronador for most travellers: the glacier and the highest mountain in the park, every day, in an easy day. The Seven Lakes if you want the famous road and a town at the end; Puerto Blest if you want the water and the forest; El Bolson on a Saturday for the fair; the Circuito Grande if you have seen the lakes and want the steppe and the Limay.

How do these fit with the four-day Bariloche package?

The package has the Circuito Chico on the first afternoon, Victoria Island and the Arrayanes forest on the second day, and a free third day: that is where one of these goes. Each extra night after that is another one. None of them repeats the package.

Which days do the Bariloche tours run?

Tronador, Puerto Blest and the Seven Lakes run every day. El Bolson runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the Circuito Grande on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, as regular services; on other days we quote them private. We lay the days out so that they fit your dates.

What about the national park entrance fees?

Nahuel Huapi, Lago Puelo and Lanin national parks charge an entrance per person, paid at the gate or the jetty in Argentine pesos, as with every operator. We tell you the current amounts when we quote so you can budget for them.

How to put a longer Bariloche stay together

Bariloche sits in the middle of the largest national park in Argentina, and the roads out of it go in four directions. The package gives you the two classics at the door of the city, the Circuito Chico and the catamaran to Victoria Island. Everything else needs a day each, and that is what these pages are for.

With one more night, Cerro Tronador: the glacier is the thing nobody expects in a region of lakes. With two, the Seven Lakes Route or Puerto Blest, depending on whether you prefer the road or the water. El Bolson is for the fair and the valley, and the Circuito Grande for the Limay and Villa Traful, which almost no first-time visitor sees. Tell us your dates and how many days you have, and we fit the days to the timetable of each one.

Tell us which of these caught your eye

Send us your dates, how many of you are travelling and the days you would like to add. We come back within 24 hours with your Bariloche trip laid out, these days included where they fit.
