FAQ

Buenos Aires: frequently asked questions

What are the top things to do in Buenos Aires?

The classics are a city tour (Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Recoleta, San Telmo and colourful La Boca), a dinner and tango show, a boat trip through the Tigre Delta, and a Gaucho Day at a countryside estancia with asado and folklore. Football fans can add a stadium tour of La Bombonera and El Monumental, and wine lovers a vineyard day trip with gourmet lunch.

How many days do I need in Buenos Aires?

Two to three days is ideal: a city tour, a tango show and one or two excursions. Our 4-day package adds a more relaxed pace and free time. Most travelers then continue to Iguazú Falls or Patagonia — we plan the whole route.

What's the difference between your half day and full day tours?

Half day tours (~4 hours) cover one experience: the city tour, the Tigre Delta, the Eva Perón tour, a helicopter flight, La Plata or a football stadium tour.

Full day tours take most of the day: the gaucho estancia, a vineyard with lunch, Campanópolis, the Temaikén zoo, the hop-on hop-off bus or a day trip to Colonia or Montevideo in Uruguay.

You can combine one of each in a single day — for example the Delta in the morning and the city tour in the afternoon.

Are your tours private or shared?

Both. You can join a regular shared service with other travelers, or book a fully private tour with your own English-speaking guide and driver, setting the pace and adjusting the route. We quote both so you can compare.

Do tours include hotel pick-up and an English-speaking guide?

Yes. Our tours and tango shows include transfers from and to your hotel in Buenos Aires and professional English-speaking guides. Airport transfers from Ezeiza (EZE) or Aeroparque (AEP) are included in our packages.

Which tango show should I choose?

We work with the city's leading tango houses: Esquina Carlos Gardel in Abasto, Madero Tango and Señor Tango, Tango Porteño near the Obelisco, and Complejo Tango. All include hotel transfers, dinner with drinks and a live orchestra — compare them here or tell us your taste and budget and we'll advise.

Can I visit La Bombonera and El Monumental?

Yes. Our football stadium tour visits both River Plate's Estadio Monumental and Boca Juniors' La Bombonera, plus a museum holding original shirts worn by legends such as Maradona and Messi. Half day, transfers included. Tell us which club you support and we'll tailor the visit.

Can I do a day trip to Uruguay?

Yes. A fast ferry from Buenos Aires port reaches Colonia del Sacramento in about an hour, or Montevideo in a few hours. We arrange ferry tickets, guided tour and transfers as a full day excursion.

When is the best time to visit, and is it safe?

Spring (Sep–Nov) and autumn (Mar–May) are the most pleasant; summer is hot and humid, winter cool but mild — it works year-round. Buenos Aires is a normal big city: take the usual precautions with valuables. Our guides and private transfers take you door to door.

Why book with 01Argentina instead of an online marketplace?

Because you get the whole trip planned by one person, not a pile of separate bookings. We're a local agency based in Buenos Aires with 20+ years of experience: hotels, transfers, tours, shows and onward flights to Iguazú or Patagonia in a single itinerary — with the best price guaranteed and a free quote in under 24 hours.
