In the first quarter of this year there were 70% more tourists from neighboring Chile in the same period last year. <\/p>\n<p>A study by the Tourism Observatory of Tourism Entity Buenos Aires, between January and March this year 60,244 tourists arrived in Chile, when in the first quarter of 2010 was only 35,552. Another significant finding is that, helped by the change, are increasingly buying in the city. In March, 11% of foreigners who bought using the Tax Free Shopping system were from Chile, becoming the second-ranked after the Brazilians, who made 36% of purchases. Moreover, in March the Chilean bought a 68% increase over the same month of 2010. <\/p>\n<p>Why the increase of the Chilean tourism? The Tourism Entity attributes it to the recovery of the economy of Chile, after the effects caused by the earthquake last year. However, in 2010 the Chileans also noted. Through Ezeiza and Aeroparque 199,965 visitors arrived that nationality, accounting for 33% more than in 2009. Last year, Chilean tourists spent the sum of 1,037,793 nights in the City. Almost 40% chose hotels 4 and 5 stars. And in total, spent nearly U $ S 147 million, a 33.4% increase over the previous year. Each visitor spent an average Chilean U $ S 141.6 day, making a total expenditure of $ S 736 for your stay, calculated at 5.2 days. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Chileans have always had interest in coming to Buenos Aires walking and that interest is growing,&#8221; Fabian told Cruz, a 38 year old engineer arrived on Monday while walking in Florida. &#8220;This is a big city and very prepared for the tourism.
