News from Patagonia Argentina

Four regions of Rio Negro Province will be benefited thanks to the tourism plan that seeks to activate six new destinations.

The Corridor of the Cliffs, a new ski resort at Cerro Perito Moreno, the implementation of all the events of the Trochita Somuncurá Plateau, Valley and Lower Cretaceous of Gualicho are the six destinations of Rio Negro Province to show the world as a reference of Patagonia Argentina.

During the First Provincial Congress of Rio Negro Province Tourism, held during March in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, the authorities confirmed that the province will have a ‘true state policy’ to a position in national and international markets. And one of the strategies will work in the promotion of new destinations and products in the region.
Juan Salguero, director of Tourism Development, Ministry of Tourism of Rio, said in talks with Tur News: ‘will seek to value undeveloped areas or are still unknown to many travelers and even for the Río Negro, each region has its particularity and the idea is that each can be discovered ‘.

Cliffs Corridor

One of the first destinations to be promoted is the Corridor of the cliffs. ‘From the Condor-spa just minutes from Viedma, provincial capital to Puerto Lobos, which is the last destination on the coast of Rio Negro, there are five protected areas with beaches and cliffs that are not utilized as it should, people focus lot in Grottoes, and rightly so, but there are other people looking for peace of mind, and is what will develop, “said the former mayor of the National Park Nahuel Huapi.

He also noted that “it is necessary to value protected areas because they are virtually unknown.” These are Punta Bermeja, Caleta de los Loros, San Antonio Bay, a place of interest for the conservation of migratory birds and Puerto Lobos Lobos Islet Complex. In total, this tourist corridor will form a 280 km route on the Atlantic coast in the Rio Negro Province.

- The Provincial Reserve Punta Bermeja is, 33 kilometers from the resort El Condor, was created in 1971 to preserve a coastal which develops the largest colony of sea lions in Patagonia hair. From the runways were also sighted Antarctic birds, terns, cormorants, whales, dolphins and sea lions. There are about 2,100 hectares, which is an interpretation center.
- Nature Reserve Caleta de los Loros is located a few kilometers further south, and is an area of tidal channels, where native wildlife is sighted and draws seafood, including mussels, octopus and crabs. For divers, are the remains of Mary Jane, a sunken ship in the late nineteenth century.
- The San Antonio Bay Nature Reserve was created in 1993 and runs from the Lighthouse Beacon St. Matthias to the basement. It covers about 45 miles of beaches, and its shores are visited by migratory shorebirds shore birds that travel from Tierra del Fuego to the North Pole. The area also protects a number of wetlands, of which poultry food extract.

Flights to Patagonia from Brazil which is a priority market for inbound tourism.

The worst of the monster that haunted an entire country, especially in Patagonia, appears to be part of a past that seemed promising, but it ended up being “subsistence”.
In 2011 in the rearview mirror, and ending the first quarter of this 2012, the Patagonian destinations have shown their intentions to be a turning point that allows them to leave in oblivion the collective consciousness of the calamities that had to go through the ashes.
So now been implemented and are being implemented promotion and marketing, driven by the provinces, municipalities, and support entities, such as Patagonia Ente Tourism and other government agencies, as the same Ministry of Tourism of the Nation.

Flights from Brazil to Patagonia Argentina:

Retrieve a season “Lost” is a difficult task, so the Patagonia needs all the support you can receive from the various components of the sector. So no wonder that Aerolineas Argentinas has announced that for the winter season, beyond the planned frequency, there will be three charter flights to Bariloche and Ushuaia each weekly.
While this is temporary operations during the winter season, are a good sign that sends the national airline to help strengthen the air link between Argentina and Brazil, two countries that most attract foreign tourists in the region.

“This is to address a specific need. We’re betting all the chips to recover this strategic market is Brazil, to generate a volume and a dynamic that was lost by the Puyehue volcano last year. The economic and social impact is very strong and necessary for the recovery of the town, “he told Messenger, Juan Pablo Lafosse, who confessed that” Brazilian operators from earlier this year requested flights. ”
Lafosse also clarified that “somehow this fits into one of the principles that Aerolineas Argentinas is to channel the demand for foreign tourists, especially from Brazil, directly to the final destinations are Argentina, in this case Bariloche and Ushuaia.”

From Braztoa 2012, San Pablo, Fabián Lombardo, International Sales Manager of Aerolineas Argentinas, spoke with the Messenger Tourism. “I came in order to meet with operators to close details of charter flights to Ushuaia and Bariloche, although there are issues identified.”
Lombardo said the charter airlines raised by the “company’s commitment to grow in the Brazilian market and promote tourism in the destinations of our country. There is also a commitment to jointly develop the destination Bariloche, with the ashes that had fallen last year by the Puyehue, the season was not expected and needed the push to fully reinstalled in the Brazilian market, which today is intact and strong. ”
In addition, the executive said that “negotiations are for flights to Malargüe, although there are still unresolved issues, such as checking the availability of resources for the operations take place.” In this sense, long ago, Mariano Recalde, president of Airlines, had slipped this release, adding that “the strengthening of the operation in the region will strengthen airports were closed for many weeks in 2011 as were those of Bariloche and Chapelco”.

Roger Federer, one of the best players in history, landed in Argentina later this year to play an exhibition. In Miami, the Swiss yesterday signed the contract with Guillermo Marín, director of the company Image Sports, which will be in charge of this meeting, which will be held at playón Tigre station on 12 December next, as appropriated newspapers Buenos Aires. All that remains to be confirmed is the participation of Juan Martin del Potro, chosen by organizers as the opponent for former world No. 1 and currently 3rd in the ranking. Federer’s visit is part of a South American tour. The date Tigre is the first of a tour that will continue on December 14 when it faces in El Campin in Bogota, with Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, whereas it is still unclear who will be your companion exhibition in the assigned two dates in Brazil, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro headquarters, Thomaz Bellucci and another former No. 1 Gustavo Kuerten, loom as potential adversaries. Chile also might add to this South American tour. Thus, the Swiss will add the name to the list of great figures of the racket that went through our country, as Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors and Ivan Lendl. Worth remembering that Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi (and had been for the Davis Cup in 1988), two legends, also played an exhibition on 27 April last year, in Tigre. That meeting, which received major support from the municipality of Tigre, who leads Sergio Massa, served as the basis for the challenge he undertook Sports Image, with the idea of bringing Federer, who was in the pipeline for several months. The cachet of the Swiss would be about two million dollars

Rock in Rio in Buenos Aires

It was advanced by the president and creator of Rock in Rio, Roberto Medina, pointing to institutional cooperation, the proximity to Rio de Janeiro and Argentina intimate relationship with music as the main reasons for the decision.
Argentina will be the second American country to embrace and welcome the musical philosophy of Rock in Rio, after the preliminary agreement reached with the leadership of government of Buenos Aires, in September 2013 converted this city into the second seat in the continent called ” festival of festivals “.

“Argentina has a long relationship with Rock in Rio for its proximity to Brazil,” said Medina, who thinks that, by proximity, the new headquarters could absorb some of the high demand for workers that do not fit in the City of Rock in Rio de Janeiro.
In his last call in this city, last September, Rock in Rio music held seven days, with a full house and 700,000 tickets sold, generating for the city $ 460 million, according to figures provided by the City Council.Medina noted that both the governor of Buenos Aires, Mauricio Macri, as his Minister of Culture Hernán Lombardi, showed a “quick understanding” on the economic momentum and the global impact in terms of image that is Rock in Rio.To all this we must add also the musical idiosyncrasies Aires. “From my point of view, Argentina is the country rock in Latin America, with strong groups that make concert for 60,000 or 70,000 people,” said Medina. The festival is coming to town in late September, just days after the conclusion of his edition of Rio, so there will be overlaps in programming, with any possible musical exchanges and two evenings devoted to music “metalera”.The landing of the festival in Buenos Aires is, indeed, thundering, with some “spots” that appear in the group of “heavy” band Sepultura and French drummers Les Tambours du Bronx, who staged one of the stellar performances of the last Rock in Rio”First of all it comes to providing good music,” said the creator of this festival, “very excited because it expands the international dimension of Rock in Rio”, which after its incursion years in Europe, U.S. hopes to reach.”The idea is that it becomes as important to music as the World Cup is for football, with high quality in all aspects,” from the lawn to the shops, from transportation to infrastructure.

The City Park, an area of 200,000 square meters that has been closed for almost 30 years and is located 15 minutes from downtown, is the place to host the fourth City of Rock the world, after Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon and Madrid, with capacity to 100,000 people per day.According to the Rock in Rio, has signed with the state called “Memorandum of Understanding” which sets out the conditions for the holding of this event and in a period of 60 to 90 days, the contract will be made final. The designation of Buenos Aires as the new seat does not rule out the possible organization of the festival in other cities in the Americas.Medina has said he hopes to start talks soon with Peru, which are held negotiations with Mexico, where there are some problems for the location of Rock City, and Bogota, the most progressive candidate could become the seat in 2014.Until then, Rock in Rio 2012 Lisbon and Madrid will go through the months of May and July, with performances planned Bruce Springsteen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5, Lenny Kravitz and David Guetta, among others.

The parade to be held between 25 and 27 February in Buenos Aires 9 de Julio Avenue will become part of the cycle of “federal carnival of joy”, which covers 19 of the 23 provinces of this country.

The activities within the nation will be 20 and February 21, coinciding with the festive carnival restored by the Peronist government of Cristina Fernández after the ban ordered by the last military dictatorship (1976-1983).

There, highlight the Carnivals of Gualeguaychu in the province of Entre Ríos and bordering Uruguay and Corrientes, next to Paraguay and Brazil, who come every year tens of thousands of tourists.

In Buenos Aires, the organizers opted for the central Avenida 9 de Julio, which was crowded with visitors during the celebrations organized by the Government in 2010 to complete 200 years of the revolution that ushered in the country’s independence.

The carnivals, enacted in November 2010 by Fernandez, were received last year by 65 murgas municipalities throughout the country, which was fired domestic tourism, as proposed by the Government, in addition to claiming the celebrations of “King Momo” closed at the beginning of military rule.

Carnival holidays were banned on June 6, 1976 by President and General Jorge Videla, now sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes against humanity and prosecuted for stealing babies of disappeared at the hands of the repression unleashed by the dictatorship .
